Shanghai Noon and Zoolander actor Owen Wilson paired with Jennifer Aniston for the first time on their new movie Marley & Me which opens Christmas Day.
This movie is based on the best selling New York Times autobiographical book by American journalist John Grogan. Hunk actor Wilson and Aniston were both featured in the latest issue of USA Today to promote their upcoming film.
Here are somehighlights of the interview:
Q: Was there any specific moment when you realized you had great chemistry?
Aniston: It was an instant ease when we met and started rehearsing, and I think it’s rare. Sometimes you actually really like the person you are having good chemistry with. We lucked out. It was fun to be at work and play these people.
Wilson: I felt extra pressure that we got along, because I had so many friends that had worked with Jen, and everybody has said the same thing, how much they loved working with her. I didn’t want to be the one guy she hates!
Q: Jennifer, you have two dogs, Dolly, a white shepherd mix, and Norman, a corgi-terrier mix. What’s the worst thing — prank, mishap — one of them has pulled?
Aniston: Norman doesn’t do anything wrong. Dolly has so much to live up to. Dolly has chewed expensive rugs, and I almost sent her back to the pound for it. I’m kidding. You realize stuff is stuff. When they’re puppies, they’re puppies. One time I saw her with a shoe in her mouth, and that habit ended right there. I just ripped that little thing out of her mouth. She figured out, “I don’t touch these things with heels and leather.”
Q: And Owen, I read that you have a dog, too. Garcia?
Wilson: He’s good. The first couple of years, this breed, Australian cattle dogs, are not like Labradors, where they just like to just sit around by the fire and get petted. They’re working dogs, so they have a lot of energy, and they can drive you crazy. But we got through.
